New phase in Life

How time flies; I'm going to be a quarter of a century years old soon. Pardon me, but I'm not that much of a blogger too. It's 2007. Hope this year is a good year for me; I want to have a new beginning in everything basically.
But still, I'm still a bit uncertain about the decisions which I'm making; the path I'm taking, the current degree which I'm taking (recognised?); and my spiritual walk with God.

Need a breather

I'm back; after almost 8 months of absence. I have been extremely busy after taking up my first full time job - as an operations executive; project managements for official shows/exhibitions and events. It's really an eye opener for me and the stress level is riduleously high ; yes, working from Monday to Sunday with no OT pay... However, the working environment is pretty good as I didn't come across any office politics; I'm officially resign on the 8th December; as it's back to hitting the books for me - at MIS - Curtin for degree in Advertising and Marketing. At least I have gain relevant experience and have quite a portfolio...

Casino Royale - I actually watched the movie twice! Not to say it;s a good movie, but I give it a C+ - Some parts don't make sense to me. Oh well....

Happy Feet - Slightly over hyped Hence, I also give it a C+. Some plot loopholes here and there

Heaven Is So Real

It's indeed a werid day for me; I was out to repair my lappy... I was reading a book on the bus called "Heaven Is So Real!" written by an American Korean. It talks about this female Christian makes trips to heaven and her description about heaven ... and hell. I'm quite saddened at some point; about those who do good, and yet did not receive salvation will ultimately landed in hell. As what the verse state, "No one comes to the Father except through Me". It really struck me also that not all Christians will go to heaven; those that sin and disobey ..will end up someone near the pit.. hmm..

It's time to give up worldy desires and look into the supernatural realm and seek God more!

I had an unpleasant bus journey as well... I shall not go in depth but it was quite disturbing - it's saddened that teenagers nowadays are lacking manners and are full of attitude problem.. well, some of them.. No respect for elders and patience.

I'm going to have my 2nd interview this Monday! Please pray for me! Thanks

3 Days of great conference with Pst Phil about prayer. Yes, all Christians do need to pray; nt just in church/cg but also in their quiet time... it's quite sad that some christians don't pray at all and they are just "weekend" christians... Praying is not just about coming to God with all your wishlist... it's about fellowshipping with God, praising, worshipping Him and getting into His presence. And yes, Praying is the basic which we ought to follow. Praying brings forth revival, miracle and abundance! For those believers that say that they are not growing or staying where they are... it's because they are not praying... don;t pray just because you feel like it.. pray everyday, and your prayers will be the most crucial and effective when you are feeling down.

I just went for the interview for the position of Junior Events Management Executive at the SSC... it's pretty inaccessible as there's only one bus that goes there.. and wellll, the interview pretty ok.. just that I got quite a negative comment from the interviewer; that I don;t know how to sell myself...haha.. Welllll.... I have no comments for that ...really... haaz

Watched this summer blockbusters' Mission Impossible 3 and Poseidon..
First up, Mission Impossible 3.... I like the twist in the end.. truly unexpected.. but I don't really understand some parts of the movie... pretty confusing... nah.. should not spoil the movie.. catch the movie in the cinema near you..i give it..B+

As for Poseidon... poor character development but the action is fast and furious... and yes.. More Deaths and less survivors than Titanic... I do wish that it can be a bit longer..98 mins for an action thriller...pretty short.. I give it a B

Hiya!

Back with another entry; I can't describe the feeling that I'm feeling right now; I have decided not to go Australia to study; pretty much because of the huge finances; I went to Hui and Kuah for Australia consultation..pretty good... and my grades are considered quite good to get entry to some of the good universites; QUT, Griffth, UWA... but still... as for going to private institutions in singapore.. wellll... nah... not going to... It's not that I look down on them.. but I guess individuals have their own opinions; as they just don't seem to be appealing to me and the recognition is not on path with the overseas...I just don't prefer distance learning...

Just send out 3 resumes today...haha..for a full time job. My aunt too, got a friend who works in Mediacorp, helping me to ask as well... I must admit that I'm quite saddened by the decision which I have just made... but it's my choice. I did pray about it though.

I guess I have to blame myself; did badly for my A levels and then for my poly... but at least I have had a good time in my jc and poly days; Class Representatives, Chairperson of an event, Reporter... hm... look good on my resume :D

Change - The Only Constant in Life

Another week of no letters of acceptance; It really seems that I'm drawing closely to NIE?
Why? Well, over the past 1 month, I have been encountering NIE students - Once, in Jurong Point, I saw a student carrying a textbk, Teching Mathematics, then just today, I overheard a guy talking about NIE! Hmm...

It seems that I'm worrying now.. but nah, I'm not. At least I'm not at least bothered about it. Always look at the positive side in every situation; I shall continue to pray for my career and decision - If God, if You think that NIE is for me, let it be that I receive the letter in weeks to come! It is not my will but Your will be done! :D

I received a rejection email from Act 3 international stating that they couldn't offer me that job. But hey, I was not at least upset at it..heez... They are very gracious to let me know of my application results... who knows.. perhaps may work for them somewhere down the road...

I sent in my results (GCE O levels, A Levels and Poly results) to UNSW Asia! Thankfully, they waived the application fee for those that applied in 2006! Phew... Did I mention that I applied for Bachelor of Commerce? Hmm.. I just found out that the course would cost a whopping $70,000! Wellll...it will be much cheaper if I study directly at the University of Queensland.

I was terribly sick yesterday; down with flu as usual... And yes, I served for yesterday's service. Thank God for the divine protection over me when I served for the Praise and Worship as I was sneezing non stop before service started! And yes, the director complimented that I did well for the praise and worship ;D

I felt that the message yesterday was pretty good; What to do when you don't know what to do. It ties in with the cell group sermon, " Expecting the best for my life". Do not worry or fear, or else these negative thoughts will overcome you. I must confess that I do worry for my future... I'm not young anymore... I want to have a renewed passion with God - think positively all the time and never to speak negatively or fear that things won't turn out well. I could have been stagnant for the past 1 year or so; it's time to move on - the harvest is indeed plentiful... I don't want to stuck at the same place... I want to go to a greener pasture... to somewhere where I can experience the everlasting presence of God and tremendeous revival in my life.

It's time for a change - every doubt, temptation, sin, problem, worry, anxiety will be cast away from me... it's time.... It may be hard...but I'm willingly to give it a shot....

Ah..back with an entry...

Yeah..I have had a long week...

First stop..my interview with Act 3 International... it's an art school for children. I applied for the position for Marketing and Communication Executive.. sound impressive? haha... My interview was 5pm.. but I reached there at 4.30pm.. the whole place..well... it resembles those old shophouses and my army unit camp (which WAS a War War 2 Hospital) lol!

The interview's good... although I'm still waiting for my NIE application... Yes! I want to be a Media Teacher!!! hehe... The interviewer (opps! I forgot the name) asked about myself... my studies... my church committment... It's not so formal.. haha..had a nice chat... she told me that I will be notified by email if I'm selected.. The job scope? Write...talk and notify the media.. communicate with the media..that's all... seem to be my cup of tea...but yet... NIE pls! haha... Well, I mustn't put too much hope on NIE... I should also look for other jobs... and yes..I applied for UNSW Asia....Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing and Service Management) ...

Financial planner???? well......

Served on Good Friday for JAMS and Dialect Church... the service's great but.. hmm.. I'm still green on the PD I guess... tended to shake a bit... I served for Easter last year..had the honor of being one of the main cameras for the drama production at the singapore indoor stadium.. yeah.. one of the highlights of my life ..hehe... but this year..I guess I gonna make some sacrifice :D

Oh yes, my lecturer want my group participate in the PRISM award 2008.. hmm... But ... I can predict that not everyone will be involved or have time to commit to write a report to send in to this event...which includes me... as all are in the "holiday mood"

To continue from my previous post... No letters from NTu in regards to NIE... that's pretty sad.. well, gonna keep on praying though... but I guess I'm not cut to be a teacher after all... my interview was just too...normal? haha

I applied for UNSW Asia! Yeah, quite unexpected... I just log on unintentionally..and here I was; signing up for the Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing and Financial Management)... and yes, it cost a whopping $26,000... any sponsors or kind souls want to donate that amount of $$ to me? lol!

I also chat with a friend's friend who's currently studying in University of Queensland - one of the top universities in Australia (in the Group of 8). She majored in Public Relations and strongly advised me to go there - after all, there's no distance learning for UQ over here in SIngapore... Welll...I won't say no.. but I have heard about UQ and its reputation.. if I ever want to study overseas, UQ definitely is my no 1 choice!

Oh yes, Easter is coming! Ha.. I was quite foruntate to serve for Easter drama last year; at the indoor stadium... yeah..that's my first and only time which I get to serve at such a huge premise! I guess I step down a bit this year though... but stil serving God in other ways :D

Hiya,

Wow, it has been almost 5 months since I last blogged; well, due to time.. I'm busy man..yeah.. one of the busiest time of my life; especially with all the school work load.

I really have a blast of a time in NP...especially the final semester. I thought that my time in NP... just 3 years... but thank God.. being a Chairperson of an event really add something significcant to my resume.. and yes.. the event has been publicised in Today, Zaobao Now, Urbanwire, Youth.sg, Adlib... hmm.. haha enought :D Will I get a Book Prize for it? hmmm...

Yeah, I honored to say that I'm a Mass Communication Graduate now... but where shall I go from here... My results ain;t that good... just average (sobsob) .. let's see what's the alternatives

Eddie Guerrero (1967 – 2005)

It’s never often that someone death has spark much publicity and debate. Eddie Guerrero, a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestler has died from a heart failure in his hotel room.

Eddie Guerrero is really a man who showed pure athleticism in sports entertainment. Despite being small in physique, he manage to win the company’s grand prize - The WWE Heavyweight Title, the most significant wrestling title in the United States, held by legends such as The Rock (of Doom), Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart among others.

It’s surprising though, that almost everyone know that wrestling’s fake, and yet they still watch wrestling. The fans respect the wrestlers - for putting on a show to entertain them. Eddie Guerrero is truly a man who always wanted to entertain the fans. Whenever he’s the good guy or the heel (bad guy), he’s out there, wrestling at his top notch best.

As a faithful wrestling fan, I observe each and every wrestler on the WWE roaster. Eddie Guerrero is without a doubt, the best wrestler who has the charisma, the acting and wrestling skills to perform in front of the wrestling audience.

It’s a pity that the wrestling world has truly lost a wrestling great. Eddie Guerrero died at the age of 38, which is a relatively young age for a wrestler. Over the years, the wrestling world has lost quite a number of wrestlers – Mr. “Curt Hennig” Perfect, Ray ‘Big Boss Man” Traylor, Ravishing Rick Rude.

There is no secret that Eddie wanted to overcome his past demons - drugs and alcohol. He did succeeded in that, but his declining health took the best out of him. As a new believer in Jesus Christ, he still put on a positive attitude in the locker room. Never have you seen such a man of his class.

In the United States, WWE paid a tribute to him on their 2 main wrestling shows – WWE Raw and WWE Smackdown. They really put on a tremendous show to respect this great superstar. Almost every wrestler teared and mourn for him - from the WWE owner, Vince K McMahon, to Eddie’s nephew, Chavo Guerrero to his on screen nemesis, John Bradhsaw Layfield.

I’m not sure if Eddie Guerrero ever been to Singapore for a wrestling event, but right now, I want to thank him for entertaining millions of fans around the world. He will always be remembered always.

Got my results... Hmm..well for some reasons, I felt neutral...haha! Let's see.. 2 As, 1 B & 1 C... GPA: 3.25...the highest so far! I was aiming 3.5 though... Considering I'm taking 2 tough electives! haa... Well, next semester is the final one for me. I really want to aim 3.5. Pray Pray Pray. Enter the kingdom of God with a child like faith.. Seek God like a little child, yes God, I want a 3.5! haas!

I'm made to be the leader for my SP group. Er...Well... I have nightmares in the past though. But will try my very best.. but must balance though, with the rest. Oinks...

To someone who is now feeling down. Well, I'm not sure what happened. But if you need a listening ear, just msg me online or call me :) Want to know how to increase your tent? First, plan your schedule... really... and it's the best time for you to praise and to pray, it works before for me... you may not feel like it..but put in the effort...the feeling is very different...

Think I can blog a bit more this time. wow! The Specialist Project is now killing me! Haa! well, Not really. Have to contact The Corp Comms, Finance, Estate, etc. haas! It's good actually, gain experience and even if got scolded by them..well.. learn from your mistakes. Really aiming an A for this Project. yes...an A!!!! A must!!!!

Currently thinking of my future..what should I do after I graduate... further my studies in UQ? or uniSIM or NTU or NUS or bible school or even NIE. Well, at least NIE will cfm ya a job! My examination results will be out this coming week...well, on Thursday at 9am. But I think that they have already finalise the grades...they are now in the freezer...just waiting to be release in due time... Well, last semester.. tough sem, although there's only 4 modules. The killer ones; namely Advanced Ad and Adv PR...to easy..Scriptwriting. Man, Why did I choose Print/Online Journ in the first place. Whoever reading this...please pray for me...

As 2 of more are gathered together to pray, the presence of God is there... as you have noticed, I seldom talk about my spiritual life in the blog...the blog is full of reviews, school..but how about my walk with God? if you want to know, well, drop me a comment :)

There's barely any news about the Specialist Project which I'm going to wrk... Must really pray that it will go smoothly! Yeah, will put in effort.. it's my last semester already!

Went to rent a dvd from Video EZY called Bruce Almightly. Great comedy. Quite touching too, I almost teared in one scene..Really talks about sacrificial love...haha! If you haven't watch it, go borrow it!

Results out in less than 2 weeks time...must aim for good grades!!! :D

Wow! 2 months since I last blogged ...

Just finished my exam; masina aka mass media in singapore and asia. Quite an easy paper, as Brian Lee already given us the topics to study. But..hais...but I got a poor memory..so..tend to forgot a lot...Just hope to get a B for the module...if not maybe an A! Receive quite a few surprises... some assignments...which I thought I will did badly..actually did quite okay.. Adv Ad Group Project got a C+...den for my my national campaign got a B...blahz...
Just hope my GPA for this semester will be above 3.0! Let's predict..hm...Masina - A! Script- B+...Adv Ad & PR - C+!!! I think it's best that all my modules got a B grade and above! Must Pray!!!! :D

I got in a Specialist Project: Pitch 05/06... Yeah, Must really do well for it...it's gonna be my last semester... my army mates gonna graduate fr univ..hmm...

Worst Film of all Time

hmm... forgot to mention that I watched the WORST film of all time yesterday in school! haha! it's all thanks to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...well...ya know the director? Tim Burton, he directed a movie called Ed Wood who was the WORST director of all time... and hold and behold...yeah...he directed the WORST movie of all time...
what movie am I talking about? It's.... Plan 9 from outer space... Yeah...folks! that's the WORST film of all time! It's in black and white..and well, you have to see it to believe it! I keep rolling my eyes throughout the movie..haa! It's so bad...you just can't stop laughing! I can do a much better movie than this..
Soo....okays...it qualify for my rating system...

Directing: F (The Directing sux, the editing...beyond hope...man...really!)
Plot: F (alright...the plot is...Killing all of over 9 billion human beings by resurrecting 3 zombies, so cool right)
Acting: D+ (heys! that's generous... I don't fail people for acting...come on! you can act as long as you're a human! Give the actors credit...for able to just be in front of the camera...but why D+? you will understand when you see the movie)
Action/Special Effects: F (wellllll....I can do BETTER special effects)
Overall rating: what else...I really cannot pass this movie....F (or you expecting an A?)

The Island Review

Phew! Back from watching the Island.
A 2 hours action packed thriller that keep you at the edge of your seat! Hey really... the action moves so fast, it only seem 1 hr 30 mins to me...

The same director that gives us Pearl Harbor, Armagedeon, among others. Lincoln Six-Echo, played by Ewan McGregor of Star Wars Obi Wan fame and Jordan Two Delta played by the lovely Scarlett Johansson (she's ONLY 20!) are two of the hundreds of thousands of clones who thought that they live in a world of contamination and are waiting to stike lottery to go to the island... but in fact, they are just products, waiitng to be killed when their orginal person are in need of their body parts or organs... [Hence, if the clone strike the lottery, it means that that original person is in hospital and in need a body part of the clone. get it?].. Ewan wanting to find out how the bug (whom he thought was extinct) flew in, illegally upon witnessing a heart surgery and a pregnancy, came to know that there is no such place as the Island...and ran off to tell Jordan about it... and the two make their escape, with the head of the cloning operation heed on them. To cut the story short, both of them fell in love (they don't know what is love in their environment) and vowed to rescue the rest of the clones. The head was killed by Lincoln in a battle and they escape and won with the help one unlikely person ( I shall not reveal who) and the rest of the clones are set free, knowing that the environment they live in is fake.

The movie also has great supporting casts; Steve Buscemi (of Con Air, Fargo), Academy award nominee Michael Clarke Duncan (Green Mile, Daredevil) and Djimon Jounsou (Amistad). All of them portrayed their characters very well and convincing. As for the plot, there's a few loopholes...or doubts...such as ...1) So after the clones are set free...what's next for them? 2) Why the unlikely person want to help them? No specific reason given. 3) It's ironic that both Lincoln and Jordan are being "raised, educated and controlled" that they can escape!

So...for the rating...
Directing: B
Plot: B+ (it almost got an A if not for the "rather poor" ending)
Acting: A (great supprting casts...the Supporting casts ACTUALLY act better than the leads!)
Action/Special Effects: B (typical action scenes which we have seen before A LOT of times)
Overall rating: B+

The Wars of the Worlds Review

From the highly acclaimed director of ET, The Minority Report and AI comes the movie event of the year... Well, I don't think so. Sure... it is directed by one of the best directors of all time. But Wars of the Worlds just don't have the intregients that make it the movie event. It failed to meet the expectations! The main movie star is there, (no offence to Tom Cruise) but to me, it is just an original B grade movie. The aliens in Wars of the Worlds don't look deadly or intelligent compared to those in ID4...in fact, they look much stupider or dumber than mankind (there's a part in the film where the aliens jumped in fear when a bicycle wheel (or is it a picture) drop to the ground). What's up with the fertiliser thing? At first, they use the machines to wipe up humans, then they capture them for their blood (or veins)? Ray's daughter, Rachel (played by a talented Dakota Fanning) is annoying at best. That's not bad, she really portrayed as typical 10 yr old girl who is really pertified at the entire ordeal. But how Ray and Rachel escaped the aliens and the machines are really "miracles"! How on earth did Robbie manage to survive battling the aliens? He actually reach Boston earlier than Ray and Rachel??!! For the record... I give War of the Worlds...
Directing: B (yeah..just because he is Steven Speiberg)
Acting: C+ (terrific acting by Dakota Fanning but Tom Cruise looked lost in some part of the film, no emotions whatsoever..and the supporting casts...there's ain't much)

Long week

4th week of school...school getting hectic by the day...and I'm only taking 3 electives + 1 core module.... Can't believe why I'm taking Advaced PR and Ad at the same time! I'm currently doing the research proposal for both, and for MASINA, Well, its research in the library & online again :( As for scriptwriting, well, great ....the only slack elective I'm having. Can't really decide; to take Doc pro or IMC next sem! I'm confirm dropping print journalism! The scariest module of all! hehes

I really hope to go to University of Queensland after I graduate next yr.Just want to try something new, its's getting bored here. I must admit, it's getting a bit bored here... hees

Anyway, I watched Batman Begins! I caught the trailer for it, well, it kinda sux, but the movie i rocks! The action and violence are secondary, the main ingredient is the character development of Batman aka Bruce Wayne. Amazing, cunning and dark. What amaze me is that the villians in the movie tends to be weaker as the ones seen in the Batman sequels (Scarecrow? the chinese clan?)...and the movie still rules (despite some corny diagloue)... Simply brilliant! A masterpiece... go watch it for yourself!

Plot: A (It would get an A+ if recognized villians are in the film)
Acting: C+ (don't want to be mean, but the acting's not THAT convincing..what's up with the glowing sound Batman?)

I caught another movie, Mr & Mrs Smith...not really great. But the entertainment is there... the ending kinda sudden and off. But the pairing of Brad Pitt and Angeline Jolie is great and comparable.

1st Week!

Oh man...First week of school...and its projects! projects! projects! And I'm working with different peopl! Well, worked with some ppl before... haha! Let's see, Masina, Advanced PR, Advanced Advertising all sounds pretty diff to me...Well, I guess I can only count on Scriptwriting to get a good grade! Although my timetable seems slack, but I guess the rest days and time are for projects consultations and stuff like that... Should I change either Print or Online journ to IMC? hmMm..decisions... Want to go to UQ to pursue a degree in PR and Communication...but then..hmm...

Went Jogging for the past 2 days....can really feel the fats on me...how to get them off!!! If I don;t pass my IPPT in my next window...have to go for RT....oh no...
Watched Star Wars last week, Oh well, What's up with the CGI effects? It really spoils the entire movie if you ask me. And how Anakin wear that darky costume still up in the air. Yeah, I understand he became handicapped with no legs and no arms... disfigured....but why that mask and that costume? No logic, if you ask me... Alrights, I sounded quite critical right...but in all, the action's great... the plot's okay....

Action/Special Effects: B (Well, the Action is there...but the CGI spoils it...)

Couldn't sleep

It's 3.07am now...and I'm still awake! Was doing camera in church just now. It's a long but great service. Have to stand for the whole 3 hours and my shoulders were aching already! haha! So cool to have talented people around; people playing guitar, saxophone, drums, song writers, artists. How I wish I'm that talented... It's never too late to take up guitar, which is my goal right now. Maybe start learning when school starts. Got my timetable, it's kinda okay, could be better.
How ironic; Sometimes I would wish I could change my past; back to my JC days; my A levels, work a bit harder, and I would be in a local university now. For my army days, it's quite alright, wish I could be fitter and can spend time doing more meaningful things(:P) as I'm sooo unfit now, so ironic, to think of the past. is it bad or good?

I should have gone to school today to find out what electives I would be taking in my final year! Why can't they just post the electives results online? Well, I think I got a rough idea about what's my electives going to be?

Let's see... 1) Acting and directing 2) Advanced Public Relations 3) Short Film and Video Scriptwriting 4) Print Journalism 5) Online Journalism (hopefully NOT) 6) Advanced Advertising.

Let's see if my prediction turns out to be true! I choose wrongly! I shouldn't choose online journalism in the first place :(. Not really into web design stuff. Maybe can swop?

Well, back to memorise all the 40 bible verses for the Word power! nites!

Watch Kingdom of Heaven!

I would strongly recommend this epic to everyone! Well, okays, it's a war movie set in the 12th century, but hey! It really happen! The war, or so called crusade between the Christians and Muslims over the holy land of Jerusalem. BUT don't catch this movie because of the stellar cast of Olrando "Legolas" Bloom and Eva Green. Catch it because of the tremendous plot and history. Well, it's a movie not for the faint hearted, that's for sure. Almost 80% of the film contains gory war violence. Edward Norton, best known for his role in Primal Fear portrayed King Baldwin IV, aka Baldwin the leper. You cannot help but to feel sympathetic for the guy. His endurance and determination to protect his kingdom deserve to be praised and admired. Even Saladin, the Muslim leader was respectively portrayed in this film. Enough of this already, go watch before its season ends! I give this movie, well, a B+! hahas! a lousy movie critic, lols!
